How to become an ESA vendor in Arizona

Arizona's Department of Education (ADE) runs the ESA program. Families pay schools, tutors and vendors through ClassWallet.

  1. 1. Register as a vendor in ClassWallet

Vendors sign up through ADE's ClassWallet page. Keep your business details, W-9 and bank information ready.

  2. 2. Plan for the 2% processing fee

The handbook says: "ClassWallet charges a 2% processing fee to vendors and not directly to the ESA Account Holder."

  3. 3. Know the typical payment time

"Private schools and educational service providers typically receive payment within 2-10 business days." This is after an order is approved, not how long sign-up takes.

  4. 4. Give families full receipts

For reimbursements: "An invoice alone is not sufficient for a reimbursement request; proof of payment must be submitted, or the request will be denied."

  5. 5. Leave out fees ESA will not cover

"Fees for late, cancelled, or missed appointments are not an allowable ESA expense."
